Summary:
The Employment Specialist carries out the services of the supported employment program by assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and by establishing working relationships with community employers.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide Vocational Support Services, including Job coaching and travel training, evaluation, guidance, and referral to resources.
Prepare Functional Assessments of consumers.
Provide assistance and encouragement to consumers to explore vocational goals, strengths, and problems.
Provides job seeking skills training.
Provides services for OOD as supervised by the Employment Services Team Leader.
Participate in the creation and completion of Individualized Service Plans.
Introduces consumers to Ohio Means Jobs and other community resources.
Schedule, coordinate, and obtain employment opportunities for consumers.
Provide guidance to consumers concerning benefits.
Provide follow up contacts and services with consumers to maintain employment.
Abilities/Skills:
Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
Must possess excellent computer skills.
Education/Experience/Licensure:
Associate Degree with one-year experience in the mental health and/or vocational rehabilitation field.
Should be certified in CPR, and first aid within six months of employment date.
